Matthew Dobson



Matthew Dobson (1735?-1784), graduated from Yorkshire at Edinburgh in 1756. Before his discovered that diabetes is a systemic disorder, diabetes was thought as a primary disease of the kidneys. By evaporating the urine from a diabetic patient, Dobson was the first investigator to prove the presence of sugar in urine.
